Union Public Service Commission announced new Notification On December 6, 2008.that Union Public Service Commission Preliminary Examination will be held on May 17,2009.

UPSC preliminary examination will be to select candidates for the appearance of the main function of assessment and, possibly, after the last interview of those candidates will be eligible to fill various positions in the IAS, IFS, IPS.
